Cycling around Lake Garda - active recreation
As the largest of the Upper Italian lakes, Lake Garda offers enough sights worth seeing for many trips. The lively eastern shore with the tourist strongholds of Bardolino and Garda, the mountainous northern side and the idyllic western shore. On this trip you will experience Lake Garda from all sides directly from your bicycle saddle. The hotels have been reserved, the luggage transport organised and there is also a suggested route. All you have to do is set off! By staying in the hotels for several days, you still have enough flexibility to set your own accents, according to your interests. Wonderful days await you!
Individual arrival in Peschiera. Look forward to a relaxing time on Lake Garda. It is best to take the rest of the day to get ready for the coming tours. Now it's time to arrive and settle in, unload your suitcases and take them to your room, mount your bike/e-bike if necessary or take delivery of the rental bike. You can park your car at the hotel free of charge for the entire week.
Overnight stay at the Parc Hotel Peschiera.
After breakfast check-out from the hotel. Today we start the first stage to Torbole sul Garda. Our recommendation takes you mainly on cycle paths through the hinterland along the river Adige to Mori, past the Loppio Lake biotope and then on towards Torbole sul Garda at the northern tip of Lake Garda. Here the steep mountains reach almost to the shore, which not only makes this area particularly charming, but also creates ideal wind conditions for surfers. Torbole has remained a fishing and lumberjack village at heart. Be sure to visit the old village centre and the charming little harbour on a stroll.
This is a medium difficulty e-bike tour. Good basic fitness required. Mainly paved paths. No special skills required.
Length: approx. 78km | Duration: approx. 5:00h | Ascent: 630m | Descent: 640m
Check-in for 3 nights at the Caravel Bike Hotel in Torbole sul Garda.
Luggage service: Luggage will be transported for you.
After breakfast we recommend a short bike tour. Our tip for the morning is the short tour "Giro della Busa".
A tour through olive groves and vineyards with only slight differences in altitude for all those who would like to explore the most important places of Garda Trentino. From the hotel, you first head to Riva del Garda. Here you will have to push your bike along the shore for a short distance. You then cross the bridge over the small Albola stream and follow the signs to Varone. The cycle path is completely asphalted and has only a few gentle climbs. Along the Varone stream, you pass the Varone waterfall and head towards Arco. Via the hamlet of Ceole you come to the monastery of Madonna delle Grazie and continue towards San Giovanni al Monte. On Via Verdi you pass under a portico and up to Chiarano. The avenue Viale delle Magnolie takes you directly to the centre of Arco. From there, the way back is via the cycle path back down to the lake as far as Torbole.
Medium-difficulty e-bike tour. Good basic fitness required. Mainly paved paths. No special skills required.
Length: approx. 35km | Duration: approx. 2:10h | Ascent: 550m | Descent: 550m
In the afternoon you can explore the town and the lake.
Overnight stay at the Caravel Bike Hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today we recommend the bike tour "Lago di Tenno", a pleasant panoramic tour to Lake Tenno.
From the turning point at Lake Tenno, the route runs exclusively downhill past medieval villages and vineyards and some of the most beautiful and panoramic places of Tenno, which is rightly called the balcony above Lake Garda. The tour is also a perfect way to end a day on the lake or after visiting medieval towns such as Canale di Tenno, arguably one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, and Frapporta at the foot of Tenno Castle. On this occasion, try the typical carne salada (salted meat), which has its origins in this area. The itinerary is mainly made up of minor roads with little traffic, except for the section between Ville del Monte and Tenno, which follows the main road. We therefore advise particular caution here.
Medium-difficulty e-bike tour. Good basic fitness required. Mainly paved paths. No special skills required.
Length: approx. 27km | Duration: approx. 3:00h | Ascent: 600m | Descent: 590m
Overnight stay at the Caravel Bike Hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today a panoramic route along Lake Garda awaits you. Via Riva del Garda you head south along the western shore to your next overnight hotel. Your destination, Manerba del Garda, is known for its beautiful bathing beaches and picturesque shoreline. On the headland of Punta Belvedere, you can wade across in the shallow water to the island of San Biagio in good weather. Wonderful bathing spots guaranteed! The most famous sight in the village is the ruined castle of Rocca di Manerba. Findings prove that people already settled on this rock that drops steeply into the lake more than 7,000 years ago. In Roman times, a temple was dedicated to the goddess Minerva here, and the Venetians later built a castle on its foundations because of its strategic location. On a walk through the park, you can explore this wonderful place for yourself and enjoy the view of the offshore islands of San Biagio and Isola del Garda against the mountain backdrop of the northern shore.
Medium-difficulty e-bike tour. Good basic fitness required. Mainly paved paths. No special skills required.
Length: approx. 63km | Duration: approx. 4:00h | Ascent: 500m | Descent: 440m
Check-in for 2 nights at the Hotel Splendid Sole in Manerba del Garda.
Luggage service: Luggage will be transported for you.
After breakfast, we recommend a bike tour that will take you to the provincial capital of Brescia, Italy's Capital of Culture 2023. You will cycle past Salò, up the Colle San Eusebio pass and via Caino to the Castello di Brescia. The city castle of Brescia is one of the largest fortifications in Italy and is located on the Cidneo hill, which majestically overlooks the old town. The Piazza della Loggia is not to be missed. The city's most beautiful square was designed in the Venetian style as a counterpart to the medieval cathedral square. It is dominated by the magnificent Renaissance palace, the Loggia, which was completed by the important Renaissance architects Jacopo Sansovino and Andrea Palladio in 1570. In 2011, the city's ancient and medieval monuments were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, including the Roman Forum, the Basilica of San Salvatore and the Roman Theatre.
The route back to Manerba del Garda is then direct.

After breakfast check-out. Today you cycle back to the starting point of the tour, Peschiera.
You cycle mainly on cycle paths via Padenghe and Desenzano del Garda, Sirmione and Peschiera to your hotel. Not surprisingly, Sirmione is one of the most popular tourist resorts on Lake Garda. The entrance to the old town of Sirmione is formed by the water castle of the Scaligeri with perfectly preserved battlements, towers and drawbridge. Behind it begins the car-free old town with its cobbled alleyways, houses lovingly decorated with flowers and quaint inns. At the tip of the 4-kilometre-long narrow peninsula you can discover the romantic "Grottoes of Catullus", a half-ruined and partly overgrown ancient villa complex.
Easy e-bike tour for all fitness levels, mainly on paved paths. No special skills required.
